Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things, graft in our hearts the love of your Name, increase in us true religion, nourish us with all goodness, and so by your mercy keep us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

From the Passage Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you that you made us, and thank you that every single person is deeply precious and valuable to you. You created us with a beautiful purpose: to love you and to reflect your goodness to the world around us. We confess that we often fall short of that purpose. If we are honest, we often settle for doing the bare minimum. We hold onto our pride, our anger, and our own selfish wants instead of giving love, respect, and kindness to our neighbors. Thank you for the wonderful news of Jesus. Thank you that He showed us what perfect love looks like, and that through His sacrifice on the cross, He offers us forgiveness, heals our brokenness, and gives us a fresh start.

Fill us with your Holy Spirit this week. Change our hearts so that we stop holding on to selfishness and start living generously. Help us to honor our families, to forgive those who hurt us, to keep our promises, to speak the truth in love, and to be content with what we have. Don’t let us settle for just staying out of trouble or doing the least amount required. Help us to love actively, seeking ways to lift others up and show them your grace.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Mission Partners Mellisa Wang at Focus Adelaide
General info:
FOCUS is a group for international students at Adelaide Uni. Mellisa seeks to support their student committee in running the group’s weekly activities. She also meets one to one with female students to disciple them through reading the Bible and prayer.

Heavenly Father,
We thank you so much for the global harvest field you have brought to Adelaide University, and we praise you for the vital work of FOCUS. Thank you for our mission partner, Melissa, as she faithfully supports the student committee in their weekly activities and walks alongside female students, discipling them one-on-one through Bible reading and prayer.

We give you thanks:
-For community beyond Friday nights: We praise you that international students are increasingly willing and able to meet up socially throughout the week. Thank you that they are taking the initiative to invite their non-Christian classmates into these warm spaces.

- For personal refreshment: We thank you for answering our prayers for Melissa. Thank you for renewing her spirit and granting her more regular, sweet times with you in your Word and prayer.

We bring our petitions to you:
-For boldness to share the gospel: Lord, please give these students continued courage to invite their peers to FOCUS activities. For a student taking a brave first step: We lift up one specific student who has a deep desire to share the gospel with two of her non-Christian classmates. Since this is her first time doing so, we know she feels scared. Please quiet her anxieties, fill her with your Holy Spirit, and give her the courage and gentle words to speak of your love.

-For the Mid Year Conference: We pray for the upcoming conference at the end of this month. With only two students currently registered and a few others still deciding, we ask that you would nudge those who are hesitant to commit. We pray they would come along, build encouraging relationships with local students, and return with their faith deeply nourished and strengthened.

We commit Melissa, the student committee, and the entire FOCUS community into your hands, trusting in your perfect grace.

In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
