Lord God, the strength of all who put their trust in you: Mercifully accept our prayers, and because through the weakness of our mortal nature we can do nothing good without you, grant us the help of your grace, that in keeping your commandments we may please you both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

| From the Passage | Heavenly Father, God of Truth and Justice, We come to You today with open and honest hearts, acknowledging that when we look out at this broken world, our gut reaction is so often to cry out that life is unfair. Like Your servant Job, we see the apparent prosperity of the wicked—those who mistreat others, ignore Your ways, and yet live comfortable, peaceful lives, seemingly free from Your rod of correction. We confess how easy it is for our own hearts to stumble into bitterness, confusion, or the dangerous illusion of self-sufficiency when we are surrounded by comfort. Forgive us, Lord, for the ways we contribute to the brokenness of this world, and guard us against the arrogance that divides humanity into the “righteous” and the “wicked” based on our own merit. We thank You that as salvation history has unfolded, You did not leave us in the dark silence of the grave. You brought us into Your sanctuary and showed us the ultimate sacrifice. Thank You that where we deserved to carry our own sin into judgment, Jesus stepped in, took our wickedness upon Himself on the cross once and for all, and conquered the grave. As we face the unfair realities of this physical life, anchor our souls in the brilliant light of the resurrection. Remind us that our final destination is not the dust, but everlasting life with You. Give us the patience to trust Your sovereign timeline, knowing that eternity is perfectly just, that You will have Your vengeance, and that every wrong will be righted when we reign alongside our King. We lay our lives, our questions, and our sins at the feet of Jesus, longing for the day of His glorious return. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen. |
