Lord God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: grant us such a measure of your grace that, running in the way of your commandments, we may obtain your promises, and share in heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Phil is focused on the technical work of Bible translation, specifically checking and completing a new, easy-to-understand New Testament in a national language. Lil mentors colleagues in Eurasia to remain dependent on God’s Word and conducts trauma healing workshops for children. Thanksgiving & Prayer for August 2026 Praise God for the opportunity Lil has to join another group’s yearly conference in Asia (26-29th August). Ask that God would guide Lil as she prepares to lead a devotional and a prayer session during the conference. The theme of this group’s conference is “God’s faithfulness”. Ask that colleagues will recall the many times He has been faithful to them in the past so they will trust Him in their current season of life. Praise God that a recent training workshop equipped the translators well for their work. One translator wrote, “One of the most significant insights I gained was that a translator is not simply transferring words but is deeply committed to conveying the message intended by the biblical author.” Ask that this translator and others in the Common Language team would put this new insight into practice as they continue to translate. Ask that the Greek Interlinear team Phil works with would be faithful and diligent in their checking and revising so that the New Testament would be ready for the consultant check in September. Praise God for the encouraging times that we had as we’ve visited and shared at our partner churches and at small groups during the first half of this year. Praise God that new people have generously begun to support us, and many people and churches are continuing to faithfully support us. Ask that this would continue and that we would reach full financial support soon. |
| Church Ministries | CanCare Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your kindness and compassion. You understand what it means to face trials and suffering, and You sympathize with our weaknesses. We thank You for using CanCare Centre to support those who are currently battling or have battled cancer, as well as their families and friends. Thank You for enabling CanCare to serve them with the love of Christ and to walk alongside them on this difficult journey. We especially pray for Live Expo 2026, to be held on August 21–22. We ask for Your guidance and protection over all the preparations and every activity throughout the two-day event. May You use this Expo not only to help participants appreciate the value of life and gain wisdom in reflecting on life, ageing, and mortality, but also to let our friends in the wider community see Your love among us and come to know You as the one true God. Amen Nursing home / Pastoral Care Teams Gracious Lord, You are the God of grace and hope. You know the unique struggles, burdens, and difficulties that each elderly person carries in their heart. We ask that Your mighty hand would touch them and bring comfort to their hearts. Help them to fix their eyes on You alone and rely on You, that they may find true comfort and blessing in Your presence. Whether they are living in nursing homes or receiving special care at home, may they experience Your love more deeply each day. Lord, we thank You for using every member of our care and visitation team as a channel of Your love. May their companionship and service bring joy, comfort, and the hope that comes from You to those they visit. Amen |
