Collect

Almighty Father, whose blessed Son was revealed so that he might destroy the works of the devil and make us the children of God and heirs of eternal life: grant that having this hope we may purify ourselves as he is pure; that, when he shall appear again with power and great glory, we may be made like him in his eternal and glorious kingdom, where with you, Father, and with the Holy Spirit, he lives and reigns, one God, for evermore. Amen.

From the Passage A prayer of Hilary of Portier

Father, keep us from vain strife of words. Grant to us constant profession of the Truth! Preserve us in a true and undefiled faith so that we may hold fast to that which we professed when we were baptised in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that we may have Thee for our Father, that we may abide in Thy Son and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

Amen.

High school scripture & chaplaincy

General info: Semi works as a high school scripture teacher in the George’s River area. He attends three schools as part of his work as he teaches lessons and runs lunchtime groups. He asks for prayers the following areas.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up Semi to You today as he serves as a light in the high schools of the George’s River area. We thank You for his dedication to the three schools he visits, and for the opportunity he has to lead lessons and guide lunchtime groups.

We join him in asking for:

-Open Hearts and Minds: We pray that every student who enters his classroom or lunchtime group would have their eyes, ears, and hearts opened to Your truth. May they receive a deep, personal revelation of who You are as their Heavenly Father and experience the overwhelming scale of Your love for them.

-The Removal of Barriers: Lord, we ask that You go before Semi and clear the way. We pray that any invisible barriers—whether cultural, spiritual, or administrative—that might hinder the SRE program would be removed.

-Wisdom and Strength for Semi: We pray specifically for Semi as he prepares and teaches. Grant him an abundance of wisdom, physical and emotional strength, and a steady patience. Fill him with a quiet confidence as he handles the Scriptures, so that his words reflect Your grace.

-Growth and Favor: We pray for a season of growth. May more students feel a pull to sign up and attend these programs, and we ask for favor with the parents, that they would be supportive and willing to let their children participate in these classes.
Church Ministries CanCare

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your mercy and kindness. You understand the trials and suffering we face and are compassionate toward our weaknesses. We thank You for raising up CanCare Centre to support those currently battling cancer, cancer survivors, and their families and friends. Thank You for enabling the team to serve them with the love of Christ, walking alongside them on this challenging journey. We also thank You for granting the CanCare team good rest during the summer break and for enabling them to prepare and plan for the year ahead in 2026. We ask for Your protection and guidance over the volunteers in the coming year. May they shine for You in their various roles and faithfully walk alongside patients with the love of Christ as they journey through the challenges of cancer.

Nursing home/Pastoral Care Teams

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for watching over every elderly person with Your grace and hope in the past. You know the burdens they carry and the needs of their hearts; whether they face physical frailty or the quiet ache of loneliness, nothing is hidden from Your sight. As we enter this new year, we ask that Your mighty hand continue to touch and comfort them. Grant them the grace to fix their eyes upon You, finding true peace and lasting blessing in Your presence. Whether they reside in nursing homes or require specialized care at home, may they experience the depth of Your love and companionship each day.

Lord, we commit the coming year’s visitation and care ministries into Your hands. We pray that You would continue to use every serving team member as a channel of Your divine love. In every visit and every moment of companionship, let those we serve feel the joy of fellowship, the warmth of being remembered, and the hope that comes only from You. Guide the direction of this ministry in the days ahead; grant us strength, compassion, and wisdom. May our service be empowered by You, bringing glory to Your name and becoming a profound blessing to the lives of our elderly brothers and sisters.
