Almighty God, you alone can order the unruly wills and passions of sinful men: grant to your people that they may love what you command and desire what you promise, that so, among the many and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

| From the Passage | Heavenly Father, We come before You today with hearts that are often heavy and voices that sometimes struggle to find the right words. We thank You for the Book of Job—for the way it gives us permission to be honest, to be messy, and to be broken in Your presence. Lord, we confess that there are seasons when the “light” feels like a burden, and like Job, we feel “hedged in” by trouble. For those among us sitting in the “wheelchair” of suffering—those wrestling with grief, mental exhaustion, or the wreckage of broken dreams—we ask for the courage to speak. Help us to remember that our honest lament is not a loss of faith, but a desperate reach for You. Thank You, Lord, that when we wish to un-create our past or escape our present, You do not turn away in judgment. Instead, You meet us in the darkness. We praise You for Jesus, our Great Answerer, who took on the ultimate darkness of the Cross so that we would never have to face our trials alone. When our pain impairs our view and we can only see a sliver of Your light, remind us that Your goodness remains constant. Even when we cannot see Your “smiling face,” help us to trust the heart of the One who died for us. Hold us fast in the turmoil. Be our peace in the restless nights. And lead us forward with the secure hope that because our Redeemer lives, the darkness is not the end of our story. In the name of Jesus, our Hope and our Light, Amen. |

| Mission Partners | Berkeley Life Centre General info: Berkeley Life Centre desires to see Jesus Christ transforming lives to transform a community. They minister in the south coast in an area where many people are from a low socioeconomic background. People are coming to faith and the church is making a positive impact. Here is a list of prayer points from their latest prayer newsletter. Church - Give thanks to God for His faithfulness at Berkeley Life Centre, and for the way He is strengthening His people. - Give thanks to our wonderful supporters for their love and generosity. - Pray that we would fix our eyes on Jesus and the cross, growing in wisdom to understand what He has done and strength to live in light of it. - Ask the Lord to deepen our love for Christ, to unite us as one body, and to form us into faithful disciples who carry the message of the cross with clarity and courage. - Pray for Beejai as what he is learning at Cornhill he can deliver to Berkeley but also for wisdom and growth in proclaiming Christ crucified to the last the least and the lost. - Ask for God’s clear guidance and wisdom in identifying and raising up the right woman for the women’s ministry role, in His perfect timing. - Pray God will help Fiona settle into the role of Chair of the Management Committee. - Pray that another funding opportunity will arise to allow us to build the deck. - Pray that we will gain the funding to level the grounds and lay compacted road base. Bible Study - Pray for all four Bible study groups and the members who aren’t in one yet— that God would give understanding hearts to grasp the depth of Christ’s sacrifice. - Ask that His Word would strengthen faith, bring wisdom, and shape lives as people gather, learn, and follow Jesus together. Op Shop - Pray that God would raise up more Christians to serve, giving strength, willingness, and a heart for the gospel because we really need them. - Ask that every conversation and interaction would be filled with grace and wisdom, and that through this ministry many would come to see the hope of Jesus. - Pray we can find a good outcome for the rubbish dumping problem. |
| Church Ministries | EAL/D Gracious God, We thank You for the Everyday English Ministry and for the opportunity to serve those in our community through language and friendship. As we are now two weeks into the new term, we give You thanks for the students who have returned and for the new faces who continue to join our classes each week. We ask that as they learn, Your Gospel would make deep inroads into their hearts, and that our classrooms would be places where Your truth is both seen and heard. We especially lift up Tom, Chi-Wa, and Catherine to You. We thank You for their dedication and the labor they put in each week to prepare and teach these lessons. Grant them strength, patience, and a continued passion for this ministry, and may their work be a bridge that leads many to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Amen.
